Big Joy Family, named by the owner, Yong Kim, defines the core of family, and invites our customers to feel the comfort and “big joy” while enjoying our desserts! We always serve our customers and community with the same love and joy we serve our own family.

We believe that the best and freshest ingredients always equal deliciousness; which means, we only serve the freshest and finest gourmet desserts, and make everything from scratch. Our specialty is French Macaron, Ice Cream Macaron sandwiches, and Homemade Honey Ginger tea. 

Our bakery has received numerous awards and accolades such as, "Best Hidden French Macaron Spot" by Best of San Diego magazine. We previously had a storefront location in Kearny Mesa for 14 years, and it was a pleasure serving the local community, building everlasting relationships, and befriending our customers while running our busy shop. It was a joyous and proud moment for our family business.

About 5 years ago, we started to participate the local farmers markets and county street fairs to spread our desserts. We loved the vibes, meeting up in great neighborhood, and sharing our goodies with new people in the community. It was then we found our new passion and decided to close our storefront. We believed that instead of waiting for customers, we would go to them, by opening up pop-up shops directly in their neighborhood. So now, we bake our baked goods daily at a commercial kitchen in San Marcos, and travel around San Diego, opening our pop-up shop at local farmers markets and street fairs. It is so much fun traveling and meeting new faces every day!

We make all of our favorite desserts based on French gourmet recipes. We also cater for general or private birthday parties, weddings, and special events, delivering the best and freshest desserts directly to you and your guests!
